The only thing we didn’t learn is to live side by side with insects and bugs. Especially in summer, our houses are invaded pretty often. It would be awesome if we could just lift the insects and take them outside where they should be, but this is not easy to do.
So, try out these amazing natural remedies that will make your house insect-free
Mint
Pick a few mint leaves from the garden, or purchase them from the market, crush them and then sprinkle them in your house. Their smell will stop the bugs from entering into the home. You can also sprinkle them in the cradle of your baby. Dry some mint leaves and put a packet of leaves in the closet, between the linens and under the mattress.
The leaves will keep your mattress, clothes and linen smelling nice and bug-free.
Eucalyptus, lavender and rosemary
These three amazing oils are exceptionally good bug repellents. Purchase (or make) the essential oils. Then, pour 3 drops of each one in a cup of water, combine well and put the mixture in a spray bottle. Just spray near the insects, or where you want to eliminate the bugs. Before use, shake the spray bottle.
Peppermint Oil
Insects, particularly spiders, can’t stand the smell of peppermint. Combine a couple of drops of peppermint oil with water, pour the mixture in a spray bottle, shake it and lightly spray your home. It will keep the spiders away from your home and it will also make your house smell fresh.
Baking soda
Baking soda will, in fact, kill the insects that you aren’t comfortable having around. Spread some around your house, especially in cracks. Baking soda draws the moisture from the insect’s bodies. Vacuum or sweep the house in a couple of days.
Vinegar
Much like the oils, you can combine water and vinegar and spray around the house. This is especially easy since most of you already have vinegar in your kitchen. The smell is not the most pleasant but it will disappear in time.
Cayenne Pepper
Just sprinkle a little cayenne pepper around the problem areas, but make sure that your pets won’t eat it. Insects will stay away as cayenne pepper is extremely strong for them.
Of course, there is always the good old vacuum cleaner. Regularly vacuum to keep your home clean, do a lot of dusting, cleaning and sweeping and soon your home will be completely bug-free.
