Nick Gordon 'Legally Responsible' in Bobbi Kristina Brown's Death

Just over a year after   Bobbi Kristina Brown   died at the age of 22 , a judge has ruled her boyfriend   Nick Gordon  is civilly liable in her death, Brown's estate attorney said Friday.  Gordon failed to appear – for the second time – in Atlanta, Georgia, court on Friday morning in the   wrongful death lawsuit  filed by Brown's estate last year, Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford said.

Nigeria Set To Inject $1.1 Billion To Boost Economy

The Nigerian government is set to inject an additional 350 billion Naira ($1.1 billion) into the economy and raise $1 billion from Euro-bonds by mid-December to ease the recession. The Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, told reporters in Abuja on Friday that the additional funding, on top of the initial 420 billion Naira released in May, was primarily for capital expenditure projects that would also involve support from local banks and transaction partners. “We are raising money. As you know the Euro-bond capital raise is on. “We are about to appoint advisers so we we will be raising additional $1 billion. “Two weeks ago we approved the external borrowing plan and that was very important,” the Minister said.

Somalia Hosts First African Leaders Summit in Decades

Heads of states gather in capital to discuss regional issues, in talks hailed as an "endorsement of country's recovery". African leaders have gathered in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, for the first regional summit to be held in the country after decades of conflict. Security was tight and streets were shut down to traffic in Mogadishu on Tuesday for the one-day meeting of the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development regional bloc, which includes Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Djibouti, Sudan and Somalia. "The presence of the heads of state in Somalia is a clear dividend of returning stability in the country. It is an endorsement of Somalia's recovery," Francisco Caetano Madeira, the African Union's special representative for Somalia, said in a statement.

NCC Issues Final Warning to Telecoms Operators over Unsolicited SMS

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has issued a final warning to telecommunication operators who still send unsolicited text messages (SMS) to its customers. NCC had mandated telecommunication operators in the country to activate their Do-Not-Disturb facility, which gives subscribers the freedom to choose the messages they receive, the commission still receives complains by subscribers of continuing text harassment by operators. The direction issued to industry operators to activate the 2442 Do-Not-Disturb short code took effect from July 1, 2016, but has largely been ignored.
