The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU has again warned that the Federal Government’s failure to honour the implementation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU Agreement may lead to another industrial action. Some 6,500 migrants, most believed to be Africans, were saved off the Libyan coast in 40 separate rescue missions on Monday, the Italian coast guard said on Twitter, in one of the largest influxes of refugees in a single day so far this year. The R&B singer Chris Brown has been arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Police was called to Chris’s Los Angeles home at 3am on Tuesday morning after a woman called police for assistance. Chris had been posting online videos declaring his innocence. In one Instagram video Brown, waving a cigarette and looking at the camera, says if and when police get the search warrant, they will find nothing at the home. He dismissed TV reports that he was barricaded inside.

The Federal Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the British Government on the modalities for the return of Nigerian stolen assets. The Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr Abubakar Malami, signed on behalf of the Federal Government in Abuja on Tuesday. Malami said that the MoU reflected the desire and willingness of both countries to continue cooperation and mutual support.
