Acid Victim Models On NY Fashion Week

Reshma Qureshi walks the runway during the FTL Moda presentation at New York Fashion Week in New York, on Sept. 8, 2016.

On the first day of the New York Fashion Week, one model in particular captured the attention and applause of the audience.

Reshma Qureshi (19-year-old from Mumbai), who said she feels good and had a great experience, made her runway debut on Thursday, survived an acid attack in India that blinded one of her eyes and disfigured her face two years ago.

For her first stint on the catwalk, she wore a floral floor-length gown designed by Archana Kochhar, a designer from Indian.

This was not Qureshi’s first time standing up as a survivor of acid attacks. She has been making beauty-advice videos on YouTube.

Acid attacks, targeting women and children in particular, are still rampant in some parts of the world.

Brave Lady!
