Syrian citizens carry their belongings as they prepare to leave Daraya,The evacuation is part of an agreement struck between the rebels and the government of President Bashar al-Assad. The Nigerian government on Friday launched 30 start-up businesses by youths under the Villa Demo Day platform for technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo launched the businesses at an event attended by the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. Professor Osinbajo also announced plans to collaborate with Facebook in coming months, expressing the belief that it will enhance entrepreneurial and innovative connectivity for Nigerian youths across Africa.

  Popular stand-up comedian, Bovi Ugboma, who has worked with top Nigerian comedy giants and featured in lots of comedy shows, has declared that he has conquered the stage and the next challenge for him now is movies. Bovi who once worked as Richard Mofe Damijo’s Personal Assistant recently delved into movie production.   His debut movie as a producer is “It’s Her Day”. Bovi first gained popularity for his acting skills after featuring in the sitcom, “Extended Family” which was produced in 2007.  

The Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade, has given automatic employment to 300 applicants of the newly built and equipped Calabar Garment Factory. The beneficiaries were at the garment factory for the final employment screening exercise, where they were given immediate employment by the governor. While screening was on-going at the Garment Factory, Governor Ben Ayade visited the factory to monitor the ongoing process.

Channels Television breakfast program, Sunrise Daily, had Industrialist Sam Ohuabunwa as guest to discuss ongoing recession in Nigeria. He says the government should motivate private sector investment. Mr.   Ohuabunwa said in order for the economy to be boosted very fast, the government needs to stimulate production. And to be able to do that, the government’s spending has to be supported by that of the private sector.
